Wednesday...

After breakfast the boys & I headed to the park where we met Jeff's dad who was in town and his brother, Wade. I'm considering hiring them both as full-time nannies. The boys kept them on their toes racing across the playground, playing games of tag, swinging, and anything else they could think of.

This is Owen's poop face. He found a quiet spot to do his business...

Then he was off again on another adventure...

It was a really hot day so we stayed cool playing in the splash park, but the boys were more interested in the playground equipment rather than the water, so we didn't spend much time doing that. 

Jeff's mom met us for lunch and brought a picnic for us all.

By the time we finished eating, we were all pretty drained...

So we headed for the theater where we relaxed in the air conditioning and watched Rio. It was a cute movie and the boys all did a great job of paying attention and not getting restless.

My brother Ryan and his wife, Charly, had invited us over for dinner when they found out that we were coming to town. We got to see their cute new place and feasted on appetizers of yummy bread and mushroom meatballs...

Then we all snuggled on their new couch and watched MegaMind before driving back to the hotel in the crazy lightning storm...

 

Happy Father's Day!

I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband who values his role as a father.

I am blessed with a father who is an example of hard work and service. 

I am blessed with a father-in-law who is an example of faith and patience.

I am blessed with brothers-some who had the unfortunate experience of growing up with me...others who are fortunate to be my brothers through marriage:)-who are wonderful uncles to my three children, who are great examples of good men, and I appreciate each one of them.

Hide-and-Seek with Owen...

Free Fishing Day

This weekend my parents came up to visit since Jeff & I were speaking in church on Sunday. Saturday was free fishing day so we went on an adventure to a pond we'd never been to but it turned out to be worth the drive. We ended up catching 11 fish but one escaped the net and swam away.

Ethan is becoming quite the fisherman and was the first to catch anything.

Notice Jeff is using the boys' Spiderman fishing pole...he didn't get to do much fishing since the boys and I kept him busy baiting hooks, casting, and helping get fish to shore.

 

Kamden isn't terribly patient when it comes to fishing, but he did help Jeff reel a few in...

I even caught a few and yes, I used a Spiderman fishing pole the whole time!

The Primary presidency from our Emmett ward gave each of the boys a fishing pole before we moved and we've been putting them to good use!

Little by little, my parents are becoming Maniacs...

Grammy helped Owen and the pole only ended up in the water once! She even took Kamden on an 'adventure' climing under logs, through trees, and venturing into the forest.

Here is one of Jeff's catches of the day:

Kamden was more interested in eating, drinking, and exploring so he would walk down the little trail and drink his juice.

Sunday dinner:

The weekend also included a BBQ and hot tub party Saturday night, followed by watching 'Shrek Forever After'. Sunday after church we feasted on fish, rolls, pasta salad, watermelon, shrimp, and asparagus.

It was a fun weekend!

It's A Small World, After All...

When Jeff & I were dating, I lived in a house with 5 other girls and one of those girls ended up marrying a boy from Orofino, Idaho. I had no idea where Orofino was and certainly no clue that I would ever be living there.

When we made the decision to move here it seemed like everyone we talked to either knew someone from here, had been here, or had a story about the area. It really is a small world.

Right before we moved I learned that the Relief Society President in Orofino actually grew up in Emmett and was good friends with my mother.

She shared these pictures with me from her wedding, that hot lady in the red is my mom. The blonde is the mother of my youngest brother's best friend and business partner, Joe.

These two pictures are of my grandmother. Doesn't she look thrilled to be getting her picture taken for the newspaper? Or maybe she was just super excited to be in the PTA...

And this is my grandma helping at the wedding my mom is at in the above pictures. I really like all of the ladies' dresses in this picture!

So it really is a small world. My sister-in-law also has an aunt and uncle that live here and the aunt's daughter-in-law is related to Joe's mom who is in the pictures with my mom...got that?

It's been fun to find out all of the connections, meet new people, and see these pictures of my mom and grandma!

Come On In...

Well hello there!

Come on in! 

Here is the long awaited tour of our new home. Hopefully you will come visit so you can see it in person, but until then, the pictures will have to do.

When you come in the front door you can either go right or left. If you head left there is a small hallway area...

And just past that is the kitchen...

Right next to the kitchen is the dining room...

And you can keep going to the laundry room with a 1/2 bath and on out to the garage...

Opposite the kitchen is a large open living room...

I really love the fireplace but I really hate the couch that Mr.Bob left behind. I finally got rid of my old, ugly couch in Emmett but I inherited another one...

The room continues around the corner to the tv area and a sliding glass door that leads outside to a patio and another that leads to the sunroom...

The built-in bookcase is pretty handy, especially since Mr.Bob left behind a lot of his books on subjects ranging from painting baby animals, how to build birdhouses, and even a book on "The Gospel According to Peanuts".

Here is the sunroom/playroom/Owen's room/office/hot tub room/etc. I'm still waiting for Jeff to move that coffee table upstairs because everyone keeps running into it and injuring themselves...

Now, back at the front door we went left but this time we are going to go right...there is a hallway that leads to those awesome saloon-style doors that go into the master bedroom. Every time I walk through them I feel like I need to pull a sixshooter from a holster and be ready for a gun fight.

The first door is a bathroom that the lovely green carpet that is throughout the house continues all the way to the toilet...let me tell you, with three boys and carpeted bathrooms, that's a recipe for disaster...

 

The next room is Ethan & Kamden's. There is a sliding glass door that leads out to the sunroom behind their beds, so that makes having such a tiny space a little easier...

And straight through the saloon doors you come to the master bedroom...

And around the corner to the master bath...

And we can't get enough of the saloon doors so we are thankful that they are also the only thing blocking the toilet and the shower...

There is also a sauna on the other side of the saloon doors...

And opposite the bathroom there is a sliding glass door that leads to the hot tub room...
