Pucker Up

Owen loves to give kisses and there is nothing better than a big ol' smack and a squeeze from my little Owie...unless it includes a large dab of red lipstick he dug out of my purse one day and applied himself.
He talks so well and some of his favorite things to say/do are:
"I AM OWEN!"
"Punch you in the face!" (He learned this one from playing with his brothers)
He loves to put bandaids on himself.
His favorite place to be is outside.
He loves playing Star Wars and using light sabers as well as the Force.
His 2 favorite shirts are: black with Darth Vader and red with Animal from the Muppets. He picked them both out at Target all by himself.
If you haven't seen the new Muppets movie, you should, and pay close attention to the song "Man or Muppet" which has become Owen's favorite ballad and he sings it constantly, especially in the car.
You can see the video of the song by clicking here.
Owen has decided that he is a Muppet.
He is also really good at throwing fits and has a squeal like a pig on slaughter day. And, even though he is the youngest, he can hold his own when it comes to wrestling his brothers. When he is grumpy he likes to pick on them and then hurry to me and tell me Ethan and Kamden are being "Mee-ees" (Meanies) in his saddest voice while looking at me with those big brown eyes.
He has also decided that he is too big for naps, which I am fighting unsuccessfully.
He loves being naked and it's becoming more difficult every day to keep clothes on that kid. He strips down and proudly announces that he is a "Naked Boy!" while running away before I can get him redressed.
He has only peed on the carpet a few times before I've managed to catch him.

Spring Break 2012

For Spring Break this year the boys & I went with Jeff since he has been working in Eastern Idaho about twice a month. He will usually leave on a Tuesday morning & come home Thursday night, staying either in Twin Falls or Idaho Falls.
Since he'd already gone to Idaho Falls that month we got a hotel in Burley & he worked there while the boys swam & played with cousins. We got there on Tuesday & that night Jolynne brought her kids over to the hotel to swim & Addison stayed the night with us at the hotel. The next day the kids played while Jeff finished working, then we dropped them off at Tyler & Jolynne's so we could go to the Twin Falls temple. We hadn't been together since before we moved to Orofino a year ago. It's so strange that it's been a year since we spent part of Spring Break in Orofino checking out the town to see if we would accept a job offer there.
We got back to Burley that evening around 8:30 & I think it was 1 o'clock in the morning by the time we left Tyler & Jolynne's house. We stayed & played cards with them & also Brad & Cassey had stopped by. Our plan had been to stay until at least Friday, but the boys & I all had colds by Thursday & we weren't feeling so great. That didn't stop them from wanting to swim so Jeff finished up a few things while they played in the pool.
We decided to head home that evening after having dinner at Kelly's house & as we were checking out of the hotel Jolynne called to see if the boys would want a tractor ride since Tyler was out working.
The boys loved riding in the big green tractor & have been talking about it for more than a week.
Owen had fallen asleep on the way to the field, so he stayed in the car & slept & drooled...
We had a great time & it was nice to get away for a few days. Ethan really didn't want to go back to school but summer is only about 7 weeks away so he is toughing it out. They are keeping busy with football & have about 4 more games...not that I'm counting or anything.

Easter 2012

On Friday my parents came for dinner & to decorate Easter eggs with the boys. Mom brought dessert & the boys actually managed to get more of the egg dye on the eggs than on themselves, although they still required a bath afterwords.
On Sunday we went to my parents' house & Uncle Jeff gave the boys lawn mower & boogie board rides across the lawn before the Easter Bunny made his stop to hide the eggs.
We had a yummy dinner & there was only 1 egg that is still missing, but that seems to happen every year.
Uncle Ryan helped the boys get the ones out of the trees.
That Easter Bunny must be able to hop really high!
Uncle Jeff ate Easter eggs in the hammock...
We had a great day & the boys can't wait to use the pool toys & bike helmets the Easter Bunny left for them...but all of the candy is hidden in the pantry since when we got to church yesterday we discovered Owen had been eating chocolate in the backseat & his white shirt was covered in it. And because they now think that candy is a suitable choice for breakfast...
