We went boating with my dad and some friends, their little girl Elisa was so funny, she didn't know what to think about it all. Owen got to hang out at grandma's house and I got to show off my waterskiing skils...that's the 2nd time in my life I've skiied and the last time I went was 8 years ago. I'm not quite as talented as my dad-I don't think I'll be skiing on a ladder any time soon!

I made chocolate chip cookies and brownies today since we were having dinner with friends. I had the cookie dough on the sheets ready to bake when Kamden walked into the kitchen and said "WHAT?!" and got a big smile on his face then said "I LOVE those." so I let him have some cookie dough.
A few minutes later I was putting the brownies on a plate and he came back into the kitchen...he must have a 6th sense about when food is ready...and when he saw the brownies he said "Wow..." and his voice was full of awe and his eyes were huge as he took in the mountain of brownies. He said in a quiet voice, as if he couldn't believe his luck at having both chocolate chip cookies and brownies in our kitchen in one day, he said "I love those." Then he looked at me expectantly, I'm sure remembering that's what he'd said just before I handed over the cookie dough. So I gave him a small brownie.
All of this after I'd let him lick the spactula covered with brownie batter...yes, I know that's a lot of sugar for one little boy in an afternoon, but could you resist this face?

Muddy Huddy

I don't know how many hours the boys have spent playing out in the dirt this summer, but they are so content out there. Owen and I can just sit on the porch with a book while Ethan and Kamden play in the "Muddy Huddy". You'll have to ask Ethan if you want to know exactly what that means, because he's the one that made it up...but I'm sure you'll get some sort of explaination about mud, water, and playing in it. I have no idea where he came up with it but at least every other day the boys are asking if they can make Muddy Huddy and once in awhile I throw caution to the wind and let them play in the mud to their hearts' content.

Week. End.
Ours included an evening playing in the sand...
Boating with family...

(Kelsey, Aunt Shelly, Kamden, Holly)

(Kelsey, Aunt Shelly, Ethan, Uncle Jeff)
Watching the sunset...

And playing in the water...

(Those of you who were nervous watching Kamden in the pool at the Stoker Reunion, you should've seen him here. The kid has no fear.)
Saturday was spent on final preparations for my brothers wedding reception but not before grandpa took the grandkids for a spin around the yard on the boogie board behind the lawn mower. We used to do this all the time growing up...

Then it was time to PaRtY...

Ryan + Charly

My brother Ryan got married on Saturday in Idaho Falls and we couldn't be happier for him. It was a beautiful ceremony and I had the opportunity to take their pictures afterwords. See more here.

That's My Dad...
Can I just say that my dad is an awesome water skier? Back in the day he skied in competitions and has several trophies, awards, and newspaper clippings about his skills. Growing up I heard a lot about my dad's skiing but the story that was told most often was that he could ski on a ladder.
I know what you're thinking, that's what I thought too. How can someone ski on a ladder? Well, I've seen it and now you can too because my brother took pictures of it last night:

It's been at least ten years since he last attempted this, so he didn't make it down the ladder quite the way he'd planned, but there's always next time...

So if you're up at the reservior, you just might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the man skiing on a ladder...that's my dad.

Lazy Rainy Days...
The last 2 days have been cloudy, chilly, and we've had some really cool thunder and lightning storms. But that means that we've been cooped up in the house so we've had to come up with things to fill our time indoors like...
Building forts, watching movies, and eating string cheese:

Playing with all the cool toys Aunt Kristen brought:

Holding baby Owen:

Playing Legos:

Ethan even ventured outside but didn't stay out long:

And taking pictures of my baby because I think you are all like me and can't get enough of him!
