Toothless

Ethan seems to be loosing teeth faster than the toothfairy can keep up. Almost 2 weeks ago, he went to bed on a Thursday night with a loose tooth and his wiggly tongue couldn't seem to leave it alone. Around 4:00 in the morning, Jeff and I were awakened by Ethan coming into our room and saying in a loud whisper:
"Dad, Dad, my tooth fell out. Should I put it under my pillow?"
We told him to leave it on our dresser and he could put it under his pillow the next night, which he did. When he woke up Saturday morning, he was overjoyed to find that the toothfairy had traded him his tooth for money. He wanted to know what the toothfairy does with all of those teeth and we came up with the conclusion that she probably grinds them up and makes teeth for old people. It's a logical assumption, even if it is kind of gross.
The next day, on Sunday, Ethan had another tooth pop right out as he was standing next to me at the table. I'm begining to wonder if he might be loosing them on purpose just to make a buck...
Anyhow, he quickly placed the tooth under his pillow that night and was quite disappointed when it was still there on Monday morning. When he showed me the tooth, I hurried to explain that I'd forgotten it was Sunday and the toothfairy doesn't work on the Sabbath.
That night, Ethan forgot about his lost tooth and left it on top of his dresser. The toothfairy, however, remembered and still made the exchange, leaving the money right where the tooth had been.
Sometime around 2am Jeff woke up when he heard noise downstairs and went to investigate. He found Ethan searching for his tooth. Jeff asked him where he'd left it and Ethan took him upstairs and pointed right where the money was, not realizing that the toothfairy had already been there.
Jeff explained the situation, that the toothfairy had stopped by even though the tooth hadn't been under Ethan's pillow, and that he could go back to bed. Hopefully he doesn't loose another tooth for awhile and we can all sleep through the night for a change!
