We are trying to do better about having Family Home Evening more regularly. It's hard to forget, though, when Ethan asks every day if it's Monday because he wants to plan what we do for the evening.
Last night the boys & I went to the park & played until Jeff finished at work. Here is Owen going down the slide & his hair went crazy from all of the static...
When Owen got to the bottom of the slide, he saw that Daddy had pulled into the parking lot...
Ethan may be older, but Kamden has a few pounds on his "big" brother...
We had oven-fried chicken & pasta salad & while we were eating we watched this man (woman?) riding an electric scooter past our picnic table...
Then it was off to do what Ethan has been begging to do for weeks...
Even Owen practiced his golfing skills...
Kamden got a few tips from Dad...
And whacked that ball toward the green...
Jeff was good enough to help aerate the course several times :)
Ethan worked on his form...
And Owen prefered to walk the course, following right behind Daddy, instead of cruising around in the golf cart with Mom...
He just wanted to make sure he got in enough putting practice once he got to the hole...
Ethan trying to get ahead on his Driver's Education courses...
When you have an itch, you've gotta scratch...even if you're on the golf course...
And even the best golfers need help keeping their shoes tied...
"FORE!"
Favorite picture of the evening:
The boys having a little consultation on the green...
Ethan & his faithful caddy/scorekeeper...
I'm sorry, but you would laugh too if you kept hearing the boys telling each other to "grab your balls so we can clean 'em" and then fighting over who got to wash them first...
Some other funny things that were said during the evening...Kamden told us that he was going to hit a ball all the way up to Jesus, then it would come back down and land in the hole. Ethan said that he likes to ride in the golf cart, "except you get wind in your eyes."
At the tee box on hole 9...
The hottest golfer EVER...
It was getting chilly, the mosquitoes were out, and Owen was getting cranky...it was a good thing we only went 9 holes.
On the drive home we got a picture of 10 of the deer that were in the neighbor's fields, there were even more further right but I couldn't get any of them in my shot. No elk, unfortunatley, but I'm trying to be better about grabbing my camera when we leave the house, just in case.
Last week for F.H.E. we watched THIS.
You should, too, if you haven't already.
It's amazing...and true.
In the words of Ethan,
"Is it Monday yet?!"
