Happy Birthday, Kamden!

Well, we can hardly believe it, but Kamden is already a year old! He's looking less like a baby and more like a toddler every day. He's finally cutting his first tooth and that process has been anything but easy. He's also standing on his own but he won't walk yet. Once he realizes that he's not holding on to anyone or anything, he immediatley drops to the floor.

On Wednesday he had his twelve-month check-up and he weighs 20lbs. 14 oz, a big difference from the 7lbs 12oz he was when he was born!

We had his birthday party last month so we could try and spread things out a little bit. Jeff's birthday was last Saturday and our anniversary is next week, just before Thanksgiving. Kamden's aunts, Shelly and Lauren, and his uncles, Ryan, Brian, Wade, and Jeff came to the party. So did his Grandma and Grandpa Van Leuven, his Grandma Stoker (Grandpa was working and was missed!), his Great-Grandma and Grandpa Whiteley, and Erin came too. Aunt Kristen and her family were here last week and they gave Kamden his gift at Jeff's birthday party.

I made him his own little cake but I shouldn't have made it chocolate with chocolate frosting, it was really rich. But that didn't stop him from mutilating it and getting it everywhere! At first he wasn't sure what to do with it but Jeff got him started and he got the hang of it pretty quick.

He got lots of great gifts, every single one of them makes noise except for the Whinnie-the-Pooh ball from Great Grandma and Grandpa (THANK YOU!). He loves his toys and chases that ball all over the house. It's pretty cute when he plays with the toys that make noise and sing songs, he sits there and 'dances' to the music. Ethan thinks they are his toys so he doesn't like to share them with Kamden. He claims he doesn't remember that Kamden got them for his birthday, so we're still working on the sharing thing.
